Fridays For Future Aotearoa, Te Upoko Te Ika (Wellington, New Zealand)
We protest at the Parliament Lawn on Tuesdays, from 12.30 to 1.30pm. Join us to talk about your concerns and try catching a Government MP on the hop!
The forecast for tomorrow (21 April) is for heavy rain around midday onwards. We want maximum enjoyment from the our early Earth Day event, so we’ve had to make the difficult decision to postpone it to Friday 28 April.
So we’re having a late Earth Day event instead – hope you can make it!
Tomorrow we’ll hold our usual Midland Park protest.
On Friday 21 April at 12.30pm, Fridays for Future Te Upoko o Te Ika is doing something a little different.
Earth Day is Saturday, 22 April, so on Friday 21 April we will be outside the Fonterra office in Midland Park. We’ll be :

If you are in central Auckland on 22 April, head on down to the Gribblehurst Community Hub for Earth Day.

Apart from our co-collaborators School Strike 4 Climate Whanganui-a-Tara , we want to thank the following organisations for their practical support. Without it, organising the march and rally would have much so much harder.

On 3 March in Wellington, we are holding a march fron Civic Square to Parliament
Please come to support our call for climate justice. This is an intergenerational event, so bring your friends and family! (As well as snacks, water, sun protection and protest placards.)
Meet at Civic Square at 2pm
From there we will march to Parliament with our protest signs and chanting, arriving at 3pm.
At Parliament there will be speeches and we will present our demands to invited Members of Parliament.
This event is a collaboration between Fridays for Future Te Upoko o Te Ika and School Strike For Climate Te Whanganui-a-tara.
We made an online pamphlet with all the details you need
The pamphlet has the schedule of events, karakia, chants and lyrics to The Climate Song which is the feature of the sing-a-long at Parliament.
Or you can scan the QR code when you get to Civic Sq. We’ll be wandering around with printed QR code posters for people to scan.
And for those without a smartphone, there is a small number of printed copies, also at Civic Square.

Fridays For Future Kids NZ is a new group starting in Renwick, Marlborough.
Their first protest is 10 February 2023:
To start with, only Renwick School pupils will be able to take part – as it is on school grounds.
But they are hoping to move the protest to the nearby community hall, so everyone who wants to protest for climate justice can join in.

Together, the top 10 most climate-polluting companies make more than half the country’s emissions.
